A day filled with triumph, achievement, and victory,
was turned into chaos and misery
for many runners and their family.
What a senseless tragedy.
My heart goes out to those who were at the Boston Marathon today.

I always stand up for you.
I fight for what is right.
I give you my power.
I defend you with all my might.
Each day of your life,
You’ll always find me near,
Willing to comfort or counsel,
Keeping you from doubt or fear.
I’m your Super-Hero.
The Helper is My Name.
I’m a gift from on high,
An eternal flame.

I went for a walk today,
Down Memory Lane.
‘Twas a lovely journey,
That I’d like to take again.
For people I had forgotten,
Suddenly came into view,
And reminded me of happy days,
As we recalled a thing or two.
They resurrected a dream,
That I had thought long lost.
I rejoiced to have it back,
And am glad our paths crossed.
And suddenly my steps seem lighter,
As I take the path towards Now,
For I’m holding on to a dream,
I know will come true somehow.

“Think it, don’t say it”
I’ve often said.
Cruel words are better,
Just left in the head.
For when your day is over ,
You will be so glad instead
If you hold your tongue from speaking,
Those negative thoughts in your head.

We all want to finish well,
And keep ourselves from going to Hell.
Then why do we fall under the spell,
Of the one who from Heaven fell,
And believe his lie? Oh, do tell me why?
The Son of Man came to die and quell
All doubt, and sin He did dispel.
Believe in Him to finish well,
And so escape the eternal Hell.

I loved you once,
But no more.
My love for you is gone,
Like the setting of the sun,
And yesterday’s dawn,
It is gone.
Washed away by sorrow,
And empty promises of tomorrow,
It did descend,
Ne’er to come again.

With my Bible in my hand,
Off to church I go,
With expectation in my heart,
Of what I may come to know.
A Book so full of mysteries,
And knowledge to be found,
Is not something that I want,
To just leave sitting around.
So I walk ever so swiftly,
Across the frozen ground,
Eager to reach my destination,
And the treasures that abound.
For when the Book is opened,
It often speaks to me,
And inspires me with wisdom,
That solves the mystery,
Of life now and forever,
And a Hope that is to come.
What a great adventure !
And it’s not just for some,
But for all who seek and desire,
The truth to be known.
Come with me on this journey,
And treasures you too will be shown.

All too soon the days are past,
As I wander down Memory Lane.
Moments relived cannot last,
Nor be part of my life again.
Where did they go? Time went so fast,
Now recalling often brings pain.
For things I thought would be always,
Are now my yesterday’s

Freedom!
In Christ Jesus I am not condemned as I walk according to the Spirit.
In Christ the law of the Spirit of life has made me free from the law of sin and death.
Acceptance!
God offered me this freedom by sending His Son who fulfilled the law, as I accept Him,
God, in Christ, adopts me as His child. I can now call God my “Abba, Father”
Provision!
I am now a joint heir with Christ. I have hope. I have a Helper, the Spirit, who intercedes in prayer for me.
All things will work together for good for me, because I love God and am called according to His purpose.
Purpose!
God foreknew me, predestined me, called me, justified me, will glorify me.
I have a destiny. I am to be conformed to the image of the Son.
Question?
What can one say to all these things?
I would ask— If God is for me—who can be against me?

Today I said farewell to my past
as I watched memories burn in a fiery blaze and rise to the sky.
I said “Goodbye”
To letters, notes, and photographs,
As they went up in flame.
A pile of gray black ash is all to remain
of things saved and collected for years.
All is now gone and I with eyes full of tears
Look around me and feel free.
