Farewell

Watching as you leave…
August, you brought lots of sunshine,
Must I say goodbye?
I am not looking forward
To those Fall days
Of less sun and shorter days
That September brings.
Oh, that Summertime would linger
Instead of running away.

  1. I agree wholeheartedly Leona. We had a beautiful sunny and mild day yesterday so I called a friend to meet me in the park. After waiting for nearly an hour and a half I came home and called her. She was wondering where I was. She had gone to the wrong entrance to the park and was a couple of blocks away from where I was waiting. So I said we were definitely social distancing! But I soaked in the sunshine though it wasn’t the quiet peaceful time I would have preferred. There is evidently an air show here this weekend and all those noisy planes were flying overhead. On Thursday one went over my apartment building so close I thought it was going to hit us. It was a terrible noise. But I am not that far from the airport so this is on their route I guess. I just hope we still have some more warm sunny days to look forward to before fall really sets in. We have had a lot of rainy and cloudy days.

    1. Oh wow! That was an unfortunate experience but at least you got to be out and enjoy the sunshine.
Our Summer has pretty much been taken away now by the forest fires surrounding us. The air is so hazardous I haven’t been able to be outside for days. So many fires and we don’t know when they will end.
I have been praying hard for rain.

      1. The fires are all around me in a circle the closest are 25 miles and then 50 and then further. There have been 30 all toll. Many evacuated, towns and forests totally burned, smoke has been so bad the air has been hazardous for a week now so we can’t go outside even with a mask. Very bad. I am thankful their getting them contained and no more have rose up and even though it’s been very difficult where I am, I am not as bad off as many others.
Yes, we need rain, lots of rain, very badly. 🙏 Thanks Diane.
