Finishing Well

Tanka poem about finishing well at work or in life
Original Poetry and Photograph by Leona J. Atkinson ©2014

Whether you are working in retail, or a customer shopping, when you share a smile or laugh it can really make someone’s day. Try to make it a point to give a smile or kind word during this busy Holiday season when a lot of people are over worked, rushing, or stressed out.  It will help them and you.  🙂

Reflections on Prayer

Shadorma poem about prayer--prayer plant photo
Original Poetry and Photograph by Leona J. Atkinson ©2014

While caring for my Prayer Plant I noticed some of its leaves were a healthy looking, large and bold green, but others were weak looking, curled up or shriveled up brown.  This got me to thinking upon my prayers which are sometimes large and bold, other times weak or filled with doubt, and even at times non-existent.  Thus, this poem was inspired and created as I was reflecting.

Sweet Dreams

Shadorma poem about Sugar Plums
Original Poetry by Leona J. Atkinson ©2014
(graphics from clker.com)

This poem was inspired by a lady I met at work who told me she was buying a special decorative box to place the homemade Sugar Plums in that she makes each Christmas for her husband.  Her description of them sounded so absolutely wonderful that I said I would love to know how to make them too!  She offered to email me the recipe!  So my grand-daughter and I shall try making them for Christmas whenever her recipe arrives, but in the meantime I created this poem and am posting some information I found online about Sugar Plums,
what they are, and how to make them.
I hope you enjoy!
