Fruitful

Posted on August 27, 2019 by Leonas Lines

Apple tree bearing fruit

Abounding in fruit

Aged life forecast

Fresh and flourishing

Haiku

Based on Psalm 92:14

“They shall still bear fruit in old age;

They shall be fresh and flourishing,”

Senescent Serenity

Posted on November 8, 2018 by Leonas Lines

Aged tree stands strong with a few fall leaves on it

Aged by life’s storms,

Yet displaying beauty,

No matter the season

May I weather like thee

Who Will Catch Me When I Fall

Posted on October 16, 2018 by Leonas Lines

Golden Leaf, quote by John Burroughs

Like a fading leaf

I wonder as I age

And detach from life

On my aged tree

Just what the end will be

I am trusting and

Praying that God’s angels

Catch me when I fall

Asleep on this earth

And like the wind

Gently take me up

To my eternal home

Where I will live on

In the God’s presence

On His Tree of Life

Fading Flowers

Posted on March 5, 2018 by Leonas Lines

Fading Daffodil Flowers

Blooms

Withered

Growing old

Stems now fragile

Petals paper thin

Heads beginning to droop

Yet their sweet fragrance wafts

The room fills with their pleasant scent

And my eyes only see their beauty
