Forget Me Not

Forget-Me-Not
Forget-Me-Not

Tiny little flowers

In white, pink and blue
How could anyone
Ever forget you?
For you surely are significant
Your beauty’s not obscure
In my garden you are welcomed
Even though you’re miniature
For size doesn’t designate
A flowers sense of worth
As often it’s the little things
That are most regarded on this earth
Therefore you need not worry
As you grow in my garden plots
For I will always remember you
My little  Forget-Me-Nots

Candytuft

Candytuft
Candytuft

Candy in the garden
Easy on the eyes
Found amongst the rocks
Under sunny skies
Fragrant white  tufts
Umbels with purple centers
Candytuft in the garden
A welcome sight when one enters

Fields of Lavender

A Lavender Day
A Lavender Day

Though you are miles away

Your fragrance fills the air,
Drawing me to the place where you grow,
and spread your purple splendor as far as my eyes can see.

Lavender,  the loveliness of you should be enjoyed more than just one day in May.

A Morning Treasure

Marigolds
Marigolds

Upon taking a morning walk in May,

a bright splash of color enters my day.

It’s  Marigolds growing in a patch,
their colors so vivid, nothing can match
the splendor the sunshine brings to each bloom.

I pause so my eyes can consume
the the sea of colors, orange, yellow, scarlet and gold!
What a morning treasure–a sight to behold!

Dahlia by the Door

Dahlia
Dahlia

Dahlia you look so delicate,
Dressed  in very light  pink.
Petals perfectly poised.
So well , they interlink!
Pretty as a pinwheel.
Your beauty  brightens my day.
Glad to make your acquaintance,
This beautiful morning in May!

Perky Little Petunia

Perky Petunia
Perky Petunia

Perky Little Petunia,

Here you are once again,
Blooming so prettily
in that silver can.

You gave us your beauty,
so many days last year.
Never again did I expect to see you,
Yet after winter you did appear.

Your hardiness has earned you,
a special focal spot
in my Spring garden,
for an Annual you are not!

(Written for Laura Jae’s little Petunia plant
who lived through the winter to bloom again this Spring!)

To the Blossoming Bush Along the Way

Blossoming Bush
Blossoming Bush

Little bush I know not your name,

Though twice a day I pass you by.
May I stop to admire you,
Who I can’t identify?
For your presence brightens up my path,
As I walk along the way,
and your white starry blossoms,
Seem to only flower in May.
Thanks for the beauty you add to my day!
