Embracing the Light

Oil Slick photo showing light and darkness

Power of darkness is broken

Broken are the heavy chains

Chains that kept me accepting darkness

Darkness that now no longer remains

God in rich mercy sent His Son to deliver

Deliver me from the power of darkness

Darkness flees the embracing light

Light of the Kingdom I now possess

Loop Poem

He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed usinto the kingdom of the Son of His love, Colossians 1:13 NKJV

OctPoWriMo 2019 prompts: broken, darkness, embracing light,–suggested form: Loop

The Common Dandelion

Dandelion
Dandelion

Little yellow blossoms,
Often picked without much stem,
By little hands seeking flowers for Mother.
Children love you.
To them you are beautiful, and you’re free!

They  can gather you and make crowns,
And chains, and rub you under their chins to see if they like butter.
How fun!  I smile at the thought.

Gardeners and grown ups don’t like you much,
but on this Mother’s Day
,
I wonder how many of you
Became yellow bouquets of love,
Gracing Mom’s dining room table,
Along with a homemade card.

Dandelions, I think God created you just for children.
