News reports say the number of homeless children in the US is rising.
This poem was written to raise awareness of the Homelessness in Portland, OR.

Old house
Built by my dad.
It stood for twenty years.
Home to our family of five plus
Dogs, cats.
Acre
Of country land.
Midwestern memories.
Dad tore it down to build new one
In 1963.
