My choice was “The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost”
I decided to rewrite it from my personal perspective

NaPoWriMo–Day 24–Rewrite a favorite poem of the past to make a point

I shouldn’t be here
Dwelling in the past
Shedding a tear
I shouldn’t be here
Reliving yesteryear
Thinking of things that didn’t last
I shouldn’t be here
Dwelling in the past

A special day to
Honor the memory of

Every October 29 is National Cat Day
Another day past
The leaves continue to fall
Another sunset
Life seems to become more dear
As each day comes to a close

Today I said farewell to my past
as I watched memories burn in a fiery blaze and rise to the sky.
I said “Goodbye”
To letters, notes, and photographs,
As they went up in flame.
A pile of gray black ash is all to remain
of things saved and collected for years.
All is now gone and I with eyes full of tears
Look around me and feel free.
