Expressions

Ocean, sand, heart

The words

You speak

Charm me

But then

Your loud

Actions

Erase

Them all

Syllabic Verse

“Actions speak louder than words” —Author Unknown

Sources say that this expression dates back as far as 1628. It was first used in its current form in the USA by Abraham Lincoln in 1856.

Have a Nice Day

Smiley Face on a Hill

Happy Face Hill

Traveler’s delight to see

Nature smiling

Haiku

I actually happened to see this while

my daughter and I were driving back from the Oregon Coast!

Near Willamina, OR. I spotted what looked to be a big happy face high on the hill to my right.

“Is that a Happy Face up there on that hill?” I asked my daughter who replied “It sure looks like it!”

After stopping to take a picture she did an internet search and found an amazing story regarding the Big Smiley which you can read by clicking this link:

Brightness by the Brook

Yellow Flowers

Curious encounter

Of yellow bursts of color

Blooming near the creek

Haiku

I recently came upon these big yellow blooms as I was walking near a small creek. They were just scattered about on the creek’s bank. I am not sure what they are, probably some kind of a lily. They sure brightened up my morning walk!

(If any of you know what they are please let me know in the comment section. Thanks)

Daydreaming

Bench near the woods and among fall Leaves

The leaves susurrate beneath my feet

As I pause to cogitate

My mind says I should be festinating

I suspire

And continue to ruminate

A reverie in the wood

“Silent Sentinels”

Iron Jawed Angels--women picketing with signs

They stood strong,

These American women speaking with

Iron-Jaws.

Word Lune

Today as we celebrate International Womens Day I wanted to pay tribute to the women in America who fought for the right of women to vote. The Suffrage women, those activists who fought long and hard, sacrificing much, in order to overcome injustice and obtain equality for women to vote.

Beginning in the 1840’s many American women rose up to fight for women’s rights and the Suffrage Movement had a number of bold women who campaigned tirelessly for the cause. Finally in 1920, an 19th Amendment was passed that allowed to women to legally vote in the USA.

I recently watched the movie titled “Iron-Jawed Angels” which tells the true story of the courageous women who put their lives on the line to gain this victory and I would encourage every woman to watch this movie. It is an eye opener and one that will cause you to be grateful for the rights which you now enjoy because of what these women did!

Watch the Movie Trailer  Here

(The movie was made in 2004 and is available on DVD. It is entertaining but stays very true to historical fact. I believe it is a must to watch for every American woman.)

Again

Sad, Happy emoji

I worried

And wondered although

God said don’t

Syllable Lune

Sound familiar?

God says not to worry yet again I find myself doing so.

God says not to wonder about the future yet I often do that too.

Why do I do that?

He’s shown me time and time again that He’s trustworthy, that He’ll always be there for me, that He loves me and cares for me, and wants to heal me and give me an abundant blessed life, yet when a new problem arises I somehow find myself lapsing back into worry and wonder.

Ah, “the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak” said Jesus (Matthew 26:41)

Forgive me God.

I love You and I am so happy that you love me and are patient with me.
