Were you a Pencil or a Poodle
Skirt fan, back in the days of rockn’roll?
Dancing slow with The Diamonds
Strolling in a pencil skirt,
Or swing’n the poodle skirt
Jitterbugging with
Bill Haley in your
Saddle shoes,
When teens
Danced.

In my generation during high school (1959-1962) I had a grey poodle skirt with a pink poodle on it, a pink angora sweater, bobby socks, saddle shoes and a pony tail. My grand-daughter in this picture was dressed for a “50’s Day” at her high-school. She loves the 50’s and 60’s music and is a great Elvis fan. She has a large Elvis collection and plays his vinyl records on a small record player I gave her for Christmas a couple years ago. Since I grew up in that generation, and of course was an Elvis fan, she and I visited Graceland together last year and had a fabulous time! I got to stand at the Graceland Gates like I had always wanted to do!
(The only thing “out of place” in this photo is her i-Phone! 🙂
I once knew a girl
That wore a grey poodle skirt
Over pink crinoline
She danced in her saddle shoes
Never thinking she would grow old
