Junk Mail

Junk Mail envelopes

Something we all get

Something we all do not want

Something we all throw

Such a waste of people’s time,

Labor, paper and money

Extravagance

Garbage, Trash

Wanting and wasting are we

Living in a plastic worldly tent

Of high tech commodity

Wanting and wasting are we

Our waste destroying the sea

And littering our enviroment

Wanting and wasting are we

Living in a plastic worldly tent

Triolet

This poem is based on an “up-ended” meaning of this phrase: “waste not, want not”

This is actually a proverb which means:

if you use a commodity or resource carefully and without extravagance, you will never be in need.

This was one of my mom’s favorite sayings. She lived the the Great Depression. We would all do well to learn to do this nowadays.

NaPoWriMo 2018 Day 13

we challenge you to write a poem in which the words or meaning of a familiar phrase get up-ended.of a familiar phrase get up-ended.
