NaPoWriMo 2013, #6–Farewell

Today I said farewell to my past
as
I watched memories burn in a fiery blaze and rise to the sky.

I said “Goodbye”
To letters,  notes, and photographs,
As they went  up in flame.

A pile of gray black ash is all to remain
of
things saved and collected for years.

All is now gone and I with eyes full of tears
Look around me and feel free.
