In The Night

Night, darkness, blackness
The air is heavy with darkness,

Enveloping my being.

Down, down I go.

My feet searching with each step,

My lungs laboring with each breath,

Eyes straining to see.

Dampness seeps into my bones,

Cold walls close in,

There is nothingness,

Deep darkness, blackness,

Void of life.

And then….

There was Light!

Flooding my being,

Overcoming darkness!

Defeating sin!

Casting away death!

Restoring life!

Resurrected!
Nocturne

The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.  Matthew 4:16
