Isaiah 26:3 verse

Perfect peace.

Provided by

The One in who created me.

His workmanship, encased by

His love.

Cinquain

This poem is based on Isaiah 26:3. I have prayed that verse many times over myself at night before shutting my eyes to sleep and as I read that verse this morning I wondered for the first time just what the original words for “perfect peace” were. An interlinear word search showed me that both words mean the same, or as we would say “shalom shalom” the highest peace possible. What a blessed way to sleep at night!

What was

Once mundane,

Was found, and chosen by

Loving hands, to be a new creation.

Transformed

Completely

By the artist to become His.

A unique work of art

Glorifying

His love

Sounds of the Wind

Wind chimes

Windchimes

Without the wind

Are hanging around

And not fulfilling their creator’s

Purpose

Cinquain

My daughter bought me this beautiful wind chime today as a Mother’s Day gift. I love the look of it as it hangs on my patio, yet it’s real beauty is revealed in the wind as it moves and creates the tinkling sounds it was created to do.

So we, believers, will fulfill the purpose God created us for as we move in the wind of the Holy Spirit.

“The wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going; so is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”

John 3:8

I glorified You on the earth, having accomplished the work which You have given Me to do. John 17:4

Who Done It ?

Moon, earth, universe, blackness

And the earth was without form,

(Unorganized, shapeless, chaotic, crude

Actually it was quite rough and rude)

and void; (useless,unoccupied, empty,

Nothing meaningful for any to see)

and darkness,

(Ruled, all robed in black, did creep

All around and) was upon the face of the deep.

And Abimelech said,

(Many years later while on earth he tread,)

“I wot not who hath done this thing: neither didst thou tell me,

neither yet heard I of it, but to day.”

According to NaPoWriMo’s Day 14 Prompt: Grab a book that is nearest to you. Start the poem with the second sentence in the book and then add the 15th sentence from page 24 somewhere else in the poem

So the book nearest to me at the time was my bible and so this poem Is based on:

Genesis 1:2 and Genesis 21:26

The words in parentheses are mine, the others are from the Bible and are italicized.

It’s kind of interesting how these two sentences fit together. 😊
