In the early morn,
Rising with the summer sun,
Waking with the birds,
I sit among trees and flowers,
Sipping coffee as
Windchimes serenade me.
A squirrel scurries,
Butterflies flutter, bees buzz.
My garden shuts out the world.

I arose early
But not before the sun
Opening the blinds
Revealed a gray squirrel
Burying his treasures
In my plants, (little rascal)
As the coffee perked
I watched events unfold
Sleep would’ve hidden from me
Maintenence man
Digging up the dead bushes
In my back yard
Birds chattering at stray cat
Cars passing by as
My little corner of world
Awakens to another
Day of life, unknowing what it
Will bring, we all grasp it with hope
Double Choka
Refresh yourselves
Come all you who thirst
All are welcome
Refresh yourselves
With the living water
Only He provides
Syllabic Verse
“…Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.”
John 7:37-38 KJV

Syllabic Verse
“Nature doesn’t hurry, yet everything is accomplished.” – Lao Tzu
This quote was on the tag of my favorite herbal tea bag. Ah, yes, that mankind could model nature…
At a time when
Gatherings are discouraged
Sparrows meet together
Feasting on food provided
By their Father in heaven
Tanka
Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Matthew 6:26
(Seeing these birds in the parking lot at my local grocery was a great reminder that God will provide during these unstable times and like the birds I should not worry about what I will eat or drink.)
Enjoying the new life
Springing up all around me
Singing and dancing
With the birds and daffodils
Shaking off winter doldrums
