Life’s just a bowl full of cherries
Filled with sweet moments of joy
Yet in the middle of it all
There’ll be something
Hard to contend with
Take the bad
With the good
And smile

Sunny Sunday morn
Purple cotton candy drips
Giggling like a child
I watch a balloon artist
Create happiness with air

This morning I spontaneously decided to be a kid again as I read a post saying our local ice cream shop was giving away ice cream sandwiches to celebrate “National Ice Cream Day”.
And not just any ice cream sandwiches! These were specially created from our local donut shop! A fresh donut ice cream sandwich! Wow! Just the pick me up I needed to start the day I thought!
So instead of lounging on my comfy couch this morning, I got up, and went out to greet the day and was pleasantly rewarded!
I love summer, ice cream, donuts and balloons! And it was nice to be a kid again! 😊

Were you a Pencil or a Poodle
Skirt fan, back in the days of rockn’roll?
Dancing slow with The Diamonds
Strolling in a pencil skirt,
Or swing’n the poodle skirt
Jitterbugging with
Bill Haley in your
Saddle shoes,
When teens
Danced.

Yesterday’s market
Abundance of fruit
All my favorites
Lavishly displayed
Berries red and blue
Cherries gleaming gold
Sugar kissed peaches
Fruitful paradise
Yet, vegetables
Were speaking to me
Not in audible
Like in Veggie Tales
But with visual
Attraction and scent
Vegetables spoke
Of their beauty
Fruit lover listened

Cheerful tiny blooms
A scattering of yellow
Birds plant flower seeds
Haiku
Not sure how these pretty little yellow blooms came to be here in my garden, as I didn’t plant them, perhaps the birds carried some seeds and dropped them here. I am not sure if they are weeds or flowers, but I am enjoying the sight of them as they add a bit of color to my otherwise non blooming garden area right now.

Tiny remora
Surrounds, holds me back
All my human strength
Not enough to overcome
Only blood of Christ
Can wash it away

Remora is today’s “The Word of the Day” at Dictionary.com
See the definition and interesting origin of this word “remora” at this link:
http://www.dictionary.com/e/word-of-the-day/remora-2019-07-15/
In ancient times, the remora was believed to stop a ship from sailing. In Latin, remora means “delay”, while the genus name Echeneis comes from Greek εχειν, echein (“to hold”) and ναυς, naus (“a ship”). In a notable account by Pliny the Elder, the remora is blamed for the defeat of Mark Antony at the Battle of Actium and, indirectly, for the death of Caligula.[15] A modern version of the story is given by Jorge Luis Borges in Book of Imaginary Beings(1957).
