Created to Fly

Butterfly sitting on a flower

I hear the message “It’s Time”

Yet my butterfly wings won’t fly

I want to soar, be sublime

I hear the message “It’s Time”

I want to rise in my prime

I want to circle the sky

I hear the message “It’s Time”

Yet my butterfly wings won’t fly

Butterflies were created to fly but did you know they can’t fly if they are cold?

I can also relate this to myself, in that unless I say close to The Son, abiding in Him to receive the warmth of the Father’s love, I will not be able to stay aloft to reach my full potential and do what I was created for.

Something to think about today as I sit and watch the butterflies flutter about my yard in the summer sun.

  1. I did not know that butterflies couldn’t fly if they are cold. Interesting analogy! I do know that if someone “helps” them out of the cocoon they will never be able to fly. If someone carries us through all our testing times so we don’t have to experience trials, we will never fly. We need those times to strengthen our wings and teach us to be tenacious. And without the Father’s love, as you said, we will not have the warmth we need to survive and eventually fly. I love it when you can find the spiritual within the natural order of things. God has wonderfully made us and all creation. Thanks for sharing. God bless you, Leona.
