NaPoWriMo 2013, #20–Counting Down

Twenty days have come and gone,
Only Ten more to go,
A challenge it was and still is,
Of Thirty poems to bestow.

I’ve enjoyed what’s come to mind,
Each day as the words form,
Spontaneity
is something new to me,
As impromptu is not my norm.

My hope is that I can finish,
And accomplish well this task,
Of Thirty poems in thirty days,
Then in my accolades I will bask .

NaPoWriMo 2013, #19–Blessings–“Pocket Poem”

Blessings-Pocket Poem 2013This a “Pocket Poem” I wrote and shared yesterday.  I printed out 5 in the shape of a pocket, which I carried in my coat pocket,to share with people throughout the day.
One share was unexpected and very special!
So glad I was able to participate in “Pocket Poem Day 2013”
and  I plan  to do so every year
(And…next year I hope to print out even more to share! 🙂

I bless you with hope,
As you go about this day.
I bless you with dreams,
That will never fade away.
For as you keep these within,
The battle of life you will win!

“The Lord bless you and keep you;
The Lord make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The Lord lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.”
Numbers 6:24 (NKJV)

NaPoWriMo 2013, #18–A Pocket Full of Rhyme

I’ve got a poem in my pocket,
A verse in my heart.
A vision in my mind,
As this new day I start.

I want to share them all with you,
As I go about my day.
Perhaps what I offer you,
Will encourage you in some way.

I hope my “Pocket Poem” will bless,
For it’s a verse from my heart,
It’s purpose is to bring happiness,
That’s my vision to impart.

So should we chance to meet today,
I hope you will stop for a time,
And let me share my thoughts with you,
from a pocket full of rhyme.

NaPoWriMo 2013, #13–A Walk Down Memory Lane

I went for a walk today,
Down Memory Lane.
‘Twas  a lovely journey,
That I’d like to take again.

For people I had forgotten,
Suddenly came into view,
And reminded me of happy days,
As we recalled a thing or two.

They resurrected a dream,
That I had thought long lost.
I rejoiced to have it back,
And am glad our paths crossed.

And suddenly my steps seem lighter,
As I take the path towards Now,
For I’m holding on to a dream,
I know will come true somehow.
