#HaikuHorizonsWeeklyChallenge Week#135 Prompt: Frog

(When I wrote this poem I was thinking of my childhood days long ago when we children used to play Leapfrog, not the electronic game they have now, it was a fun physical activity, we played outdoors at recess. (Leapfrog is a game in which players take turns in leaping over other players that are bent over from the waist. –Dictionary.com)

I wasn’t quite sure if children still played Leapfrog now so I looked it up on the Internet and found some videos on You Tube that I thought were worth sharing. Looks like Leapfrogging is still alive and well! 😊)

Wish Catcher

dandelion seed head
She jumped so high!

Dandelion seed floating by.

“Just caught a wish!” she said

I was out shopping yesterday and as I was walking thru the parking lot to my car I saw a young lady suddenly make a giant leap into the air!

“I got it!” she exclaimed to her friends with her.

I guess they all noticed my wondering, questioning look as I passed by them because the young lady said ” I just caught a wish!”

She opened her hand to show a dandelion seed.

“It’s magical” said her friend.

This moment made me smile as I remembered my childhood days of making wishes and blowing dandelion puffs.

Magical garden

A field of Dandelion puffs

A childhood delight
