Today
While in my path
A stranger I did meet
Speaking a language not my own
Smiling
I hushed the cute brown pup
Whose ire I’d arisen
By walking near
His home

Heartprints
Everywhere
Left by those who care
Mean more than fingerprints or
Footprints
Cinquain
( I was surprised to see another heart shape in my path today as I walked thru the parking lot at my local grocery store. This one was just a dry patch in the wet blacktop, not sure how it came to be there but it caught my eye. The last heart shape I saw a couple weeks ago in the parking lot was created from gum or candy I think. Just amazing that I keep seeing these heart shapes in my path. Looks like someone is leaving heartprints! 😊 )
Reminds me of the beautiful poem I posted below by an Unknown Author . It’s titled “Heartprints”
Heartprints
Whatever our hands touch – we leave fingerprints!
On walls, on furniture, doorknobs, dishes, books – there’s no escape!
As we touch we leave our identity.
Oh God, wherever I go today, help me leave heartprints!
Heartprints of compassion, of understanding and love,
Heartprints of kindness and genuine concern.
May my heart touch a lovely neighbor, or a runaway daughter
or an anxious mother, or perhaps even a friend.
Lord, send me out today to leave heartprints.
And if someone should say “I felt your touch”,
May that one sense YOUR LOVE
Touching them through ME!

Path to the future
Is not found
Walking in the past
Syllable Lune
Prayers out sent to cover
Those its fury hath touched
Prayers sent up to gather
And bring winds of change
Turning the path’s course
To remain at sea
Syllabic Verse
Prayers for those in the Bahamas who are facing the destruction of Dorian’s wrath at this time.
Praying it’s fury will be lessened and it’s path turned out to sea so it will not make landfall anywhere else.

God’s the giver of wisdom
Feather in my path
Haiku
Doth the hawk fly by thy wisdom, and stretch her wings toward the south?
Job 39:26 KJV
The hawk, a noble bird of great strength and sagacity, and yet a bird of prey, v. 26. This bird is here taken notice of for her flight, which is swift and strong, and especially for the course she steers towards the south, whither she follows the sun in winter, out of the colder countries in the north, especially when she is to cast her plumes and renew them. This is her wisdom, and it was God that gave her this wisdom, not man.
Matthew Henry commentary on Job 39:26 KJV
I happened to find a beautiful hawk feather in my path as I was walking last evening. It is said to be a sign of wisdom.
Shining in the sun
Though a bit worn down from its use
Penny catches my eye
There lying in an obscure place, just off the beaten path was a penny.
I probably would never have noticed it if the sun hadn’t been shining as most of it was worn from use and dulled. It’s edges were rough, as if it had been chewed up a bit by a machine.
However, today in the sunlight it shone brightly enough for me to notice and that made me think of how I reflected my life.
What did people see when they looked at me? Was I shining in the light of the Son?
Was I noticeable or just obscure.? Was I making a difference in people’s lives?
I might be worn and weary, but I should still be shining out the light of Christ.
Something this little penny in my path made me ponder.

A pink feather in my path
I know not from whence it came
Some say it’s from an angel
Or perhaps pink flamingo
Neither makes sense to me
Tis a pinkish mystery
Syllabic Verse
Today I happened to see this pink feather just laying right in the middle of the sidewalk. No pink flamingos around, or angels or kids wearing Indian Headdresses or Pink Boas, so it’s a curiosity. I am keeping it for a bookmark 🙂
Well preserved
At His right hand
Pleasures eternal
Joy filled earthly life path
Is mine
Cinquain
(Poetry based on verses from Psalm 16)
Preserve me, O God:
for in You do I put my trust.
You will show me the path of life:
in Your presence is fulness of joy;
at Your right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
An unexpected crack in my plans
Puts me on a path of imperfection
I must keep myself from slipping
And with new eyes, begin again
I can’t let my plans slip away
I must now patch the imperfection
That arose and caused me to have
An unexpected crack in my plans
With new eyes I search for an answer
That will help me smooth out my plans
To keep me from a happening that
Puts me on a path of imperfection
As I avidly search to find the answer
I come upon one who offers help
He extends His strong hand, I grasp it
I must keep myself from slipping
My kind strong Helper leads me to new places
Places where I can find perfect plans
Good sound plans created just for me
And with new eyes begin again
