Cruising McMinnville

Ah

Tonight

In my mind

And in my heart

I was young again

I visited the past

Rode down memory lane

Remembered the days of old

While standing on the streets of now

Reverse Nonet

Tonight our hometown had a classic car show and cruise, and I had the pleasure of not only watching all those beautiful cars that I remember from my past drive around,

but also had the opportunity to ride in one!

I began driving in 1960 and I was blessed to have owned many of those cars that are now called “classic”. (And I wish I still had some of them now!😊)

But it was such fun to not only see them all cruising around but to also be able to do so with my 18 year old grand-daughter who owns a 1985 RX-7.

Fun night! Great old and new memories!

MONEY

Dollar Sign

Must have this.

One thing that is

Necessary for

Everything on earth

You plan to do.

Acrostic

As I was talking with a couple of my grandkids today, and listening to each of them tell me about their future hopes and dreams, this came to mind—MONEY.

Each plan, each action, each dream, they had depended on money. Money to finance a patent on an idea. Money to pay for a trademark, business promotion, etc, etc.

It is sad but true. So much of our future life depends on money, yet with God all things are possible, for He does not depend on money.

So I tell them if their plans, hopes and dreams are in line with what God has purposed for them, then He will make a way for it all to happen.

And with that knowledge and belief, they and any believer, can trust and expect that their future will be a good one that honors God and fulfills their dreams as well.

…The generation of the upright will be blessed. Wealth and riches will be in his house,… Psalm 112:2-3

“…with God all things are possible.”

Matthew 19:26

Rosa Rosaceae

Rose bloom in colors of peach, yellow and pink

I think that I shall

Never see

Any one so lovely

Syllable Lune

On my walk this evening I saw this beautiful rose in bloom in a yard I was passing by. It seemed to be glowing in the evening sunlight. I could not just pass it by without taking a photo. I just love its multi colors. Such beauty needs to be remembered!

Solitary Sight

Purple Petunia blooming

A flower’s purpose

Is to seek to grow and bloom

Wherever planted.

On my walk today, when I saw this little purple petunia in bloom, looking so pretty and strong though growing all alone in an obscure place, I had to stop to admire it.

It wasn’t in a big beautiful garden. It didn’t have ideal soil and light, but it still grew and bloomed.

And whether anyone else noticed it there in its little corner of the world, didn’t really matter, because it did what it was supposed to do. It fulfilled its purpose. And in doing so, it inspired me.

This made me think about my life, my purpose, my growth, and it was good food for thought as my tummy made hungry sounds causing my feet to make their way towards home as the sun begun to set on another Summer day.

Knowing your purpose

Seeking to ways to fulfill

Leads to accomplishment

Plum Talk

Plum tree full of ripe purple plums

I’ve been Plum tired,

And at times Plum tuckered,

But Plum crazy I’m not

Senryu

A bit of humor in my poem today. 😊

Seeing this plum tree while on my walk a few days ago caused me to remember some old phrases my dad used to say when I was a kid.

Belated Beauty

Creamsicle Sky, sunset, Oregon

Celebrating late

National Creamsicle Day

Creamsicle sunset

Haiku

Tonite we had the most beautiful sunset in different shades and layers of orange, peach and cream colors. The camera on my phone just didn’t capture the colors exactly as I saw them because as I looked at it I thought of a Creamsicle which I have always loved to eat!

A quick Google search told me that National Creamsicle Day was on August 14th which was two days ago, but the sky was cloudy then and there wasn’t a sunset, so I guess God decided to celebrate it late and gave us this creamsicle sky tonight! 😊
