Haiku Horizons Weekly Challenge Week# 229 Prompt: Thread

Constantly changing
Caught up in a tide pool life
Fighting to survive
Seeking someway to escape
The high and low that entraps
Tanka

When the
Lightening strikes
Rolling thunder threatens
I seek safety in the One who’s
Above
Cinquain

Seeking a quiet place
In this world
Where dreams can live
Syllable Lune

Determined feet
Walking on a cinder path
Risen from the ashes
Tredding upon broken dreams
Seeking a new foundation
Tanka

I go
Dreaming
Seeking
Future
Visions
My feet
Stepping
Upon
My fears
Syllabic Verse

In your search for a way to live your dream
Make sure its better than what you’ve got
Before you leave the pond and swim upstream
In your search for a way to live your dream
Make sure its not just an empty scheme
Promising you somethings that are not
In your search for a way to live your dream
Make sure its better than what you’ve got
Triolet
Seek and ye shall find.
What is it that you search for?
Are you in the right place?
Acorns aren’t found beneath
The branches of Maple trees
Tanka
I was prompted to write this poem today as I happened to see a little gray squirrel searching for food just outside my window. The little guy was actively checking out every flower pot, tree and place in the yard apparently looking for something to fill up his winter pantry. However, the trees in my backyard are only Maple and Evergreen, so he was coming up empty if he was looking for acorns. This caused me to consider what it was I was looking for in life and to ask myself if I was looking for it in the right places. Something we all should stop and think about occasionally
Searching for hidden treasure
In the wrong area
