Summer’s finally here!
The time I wait for all year!
Its been a long day

First day of Summer is the longest day of the year and at noon on this day your shadow is at its shortest.

Clouds shed tears
Summer’s final day

Leaves falling, roses
Still clinging to summer’s warmth,
Utter grand encore

Wind whispers
With a chilly voice.
Daylight turns off her light
Earlier, as each evening fades
Away.
Calendar creeps forward to the
Predetermined time
Autumn’s debut
Will come.

Promises
Of sunny days
Dissolve as the dark clouds linger.
Each day summer’s warmth is cut short
It seems.

This summer we have not seen many sunny warm days.
The weather has been usually cool and even rainy.
Our fruit and vegetables have been aching for sunshine in order to ripen.
Each day I check the Weather App and smile as it tells me the high will be 80-85 and then as the day progresses my smile fades as the sun stays hidden and the temp doesn’t rise as predicted.
I keep hoping though that one of these days I will see summer arise again!

Grand-daughter, her boyfriend and I enjoyed a fun night of music in the park and a Classic Car Show. Grand-daughter brought her ‘85 RX-7 to show off 🙂 and we got to listen to our favorite country music singer too. I love Summer!!

(Visited the college today to get my books for the Fall semester and decided to take a walk around campus since it was such a nice day. Saw these lavender chairs and had to stop to rest in them.😊)

This morning I spontaneously decided to be a kid again as I read a post saying our local ice cream shop was giving away ice cream sandwiches to celebrate “National Ice Cream Day”.
And not just any ice cream sandwiches! These were specially created from our local donut shop! A fresh donut ice cream sandwich! Wow! Just the pick me up I needed to start the day I thought!
So instead of lounging on my comfy couch this morning, I got up, and went out to greet the day and was pleasantly rewarded!
I love summer, ice cream, donuts and balloons! And it was nice to be a kid again! 😊
