Stately they stand
Strong branches holding new life
Sheltered from storms
As wind and rain beat
Steadily upon their mossy boughs
Stately they stand
Green giants waving
Strong branches holding new life
All across our land
Some are chosen
As lumber to keep people
Sheltered from storms

Tree holding strongly
Roots digging deeply
Un-battered,Un-broken
Leaves swaying
Branches dancing wildly
Whipping winds lashing
Tree standing firm
Rooted deep
Unshaken
Deep rooted
Firm standing tree
Lashing winds whipping
Wildly dancing branches
Swaying leaves
Un-broken, Un-battered
Deeply digging roots
Strongly holding tree
Palindrome
Since today is a “Palindrome Day”—9/19/19–19/19/9, I decided to write a Palindrome Poem.
How long
The winds do blow
Upon my weary head!
I dig in my heels, standing firm
In Him.
Cinquain
As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him,
rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.
Colossians 2:6-7 NKJV
Prayers out sent to cover
Those its fury hath touched
Prayers sent up to gather
And bring winds of change
Turning the path’s course
To remain at sea
Syllabic Verse
Prayers for those in the Bahamas who are facing the destruction of Dorian’s wrath at this time.
Praying it’s fury will be lessened and it’s path turned out to sea so it will not make landfall anywhere else.
New Year days in flight,
Flying away like fall leaves.
What is your vision?
Are your dreams anchored down,
To withstand the winds of time?
Tanka
And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry Habakkuk 2:2-3
November winds blow
And leaves huddle together
Raindrops falling fast
