Leaves surround me
As I walk thru my garden,
Those of Bleeding Hearts
And Roses of all colors,
Lilacs and Lilies,
Leafy green Vincas and Ferns,
All speak to me of life,
That in the dark days of winter
Seemed lost, but was asleep.

NaPoWriMo Day 11–Prompt: significance of flowers, but I chose to write about the leaves instead as they are what are most prominent now, since many plants aren’t blooming but are leafing out.
Makes me think of spring to read all those flower names. I can’t wait until the lilacs come out, but that doesn’t usually happen here until the 24th of May weekend. But green leaves are good too, a sign of life and blooms to come. Hope you had a good Easter Sunday.
Thanks Diane. Nothing blooming here right now except Tulips and the Bleeding Heart, but others are budding out. Yes, so encouraging to see them all coming back to life after the winter.
I am enjoying a sunny warm Easter Day at home, daughter is making dinner at her house and grandson will drop me off a plate of the Ham dinner later on.
I made up little Easter baskets for family filled with homemade peanut butter bars that I will give to grandson to take back and drop off to the family.
Miss gathering together but thankful we are all healthy and well.
Hope your day was good also. ❤️✝️
It was a dull day here and has been raining for some time now. The other evening I looked out and it was snowing hard and has been very cold since then. We are supposed to get a thunderstorm tonight evidently. We had one a few nights ago. I had a bowl of spaghetti for dinner today–not much like Easter fair, but then I never do have anything special for myself. I enjoyed it as I hadn’t had any for a while and after a day of fasting yesterday, I guess most anything would taste good. 🙂
Sorry the weather has been so yukky. But spaghetti does sound good. I haven’t had that in awhile.
