Telling is me
Just what I should do and say
I check God’s word to prove it true
Always

For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it pierces even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It is able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
Hebrews 4:12
For the little things in life
Often gone unnoticed
Today I am thankful I can walk using only a lightweight one point cane.
Quite a strange thing to be thankful for you might say, but…it sure beats lying in a hospital bed, being unable to walk or having to walk with a walker or a heavy duty 4 point cane, as was previously my case.
Little things we don’t think twice about, daily tasks we do that we often take take for granted, or routine things we do without thought….
Like tying a shoe, or putting a shoe on without using a shoehorn for help.
Or, pulling on a sock, trimming a toenail, bending a knee, taking a shower, washing clothes, carrying out garbage, loading and unloading a dishwasher, reaching up, bending down, sitting in any chair or position for any length of time, dressing and undressing yourself, cooking meals, sweeping a floor, vacuuming a carpet, lifting things, and I could go on and on. Mundane daily tasks for some, great achievements for others…
Appreciating
The little things we often do,
Frequently overlooked
Two months ago I fell, fractured my hip and had to have surgery. This resulted in me not being able to do all these little things I so often took for granted. Now, as I am regaining the ability to do all these things again, I am finding myself feeling so excited and thankful! For I have come to realize that nothing we do is a “little thing”, it is a blessing and it should be treasured.
For many can’t do these things because of injury, illness, or some other circumstance. For these individuals, the ability to do one or all of these things would be a great blessing.
It’s something to think about…
Treasure all you have
Be thankful for all you do
Nothing done is small

God unlocked beauty
White Rose in bloom

It seemingly was like just another day. I was making myself go for a walk, which at times can be boring as I am not able to walk far, usually see the same things, and have no walking partner to chat with. Ever since my hip surgery I have had to make myself exercise and walk daily to get my body back in shape. So, armed with my cane and determination, outside I go.
Just another day…
Making myself take a walk.
Needing exercise.
When I stepped out the door, instantly my eyes fell upon four
giant white blooms gracefully swaying in the gentle breeze. My neighbor’s rose bush had burst into bloom overnight!
The four Grand Flora Roses, petals tinged in pink as if blushing at my admiring gaze, greeted me with a faint fragrance as I passed by.
” May I take your photo ladies?” I politely asked.
The wind helped them curtsy in submission to my request.
What a delightful start to my walk!
A little farther, just across the way, to my surprise, a usually green little tree was dressed in flaming orange! The sight took my breath away! “I am wearing my Summer gown” the tree seemed to say, as I snapped a photo of her beauty.
Just then a brown squirrel scurried by, frightening two birds who were hopping about looking for food. As they flew away, Mr. Squirrel ran up a tree. When I asked to photograph him he ran higher and hid. “He’s too shy” the little flaming orange tree seemed to say as she danced with the wind. “Quite unlike you!” I laughed, as I gleefully watched her and the wind swirl and twirl.
As I looked past her, I saw a charming, cream colored bench just ahead on the path. It seemed to be inviting me to come sit awhile and rest. I gratefully accepted, although I usually don’t walk that far. Once I reached it, I reaped the value of my efforts with the reward of rest as I sat on it enjoying the peace and beauty of the nature around me.
Once refreshed, I started my walk back home and met a friendly neighbor out for her afternoon walk. We stopped to chat. As she and I said our goodbyes, it was then I noticed the Clematis vine had begun to bloom again! Another surprise in my day! I took time to veer off the path to visit the vine, and was able to snap a photo of the pretty pink clematis.
Look what I would have missed if I had not taken a walk today I told myself as I got back home!
Ordinary day?
Certainly not in the least!
Many adventures!
A refreshing walk

Of a day well spent
