Silly is
As silly does
So silly does as silly
Says on a silly Saturday
So silly!

Tis true
Life is made of choices
So think before acting
For what we choose determines
Our fate

Stepping
Forward covered,
Wearing the shield of faith.
Walking towards eternity,
In Him.

Clothed
In dignity
Filled with inner strength
She faces the future fearless
Set free

Praying for freedom for the 40 million people trapped in slavery and abuse through human trafficking.

Know no freedom
Mired in slavery
They pray and hope for a victor
To come

Modern slavery exists today in many places worldwide. Be it sexual exploitation, forced marriage, or forced labor, many women, men and children are victims.
You can help set them free by spreading awareness, making a donation to help one of the many organizations in their fight to stop this, or simply just pray that those who can help or intervene will do so.
I have teamed up with Dressember.org this month as a Advocate to spread awareness and raise funds. If you’d like to donate to my team’s campaign “Help Stop the Chains of Abuse” I would very much appreciate your support.
I will be giving a free handmade Origami Dress Ornament to anyone who makes a donation of $5.00 or more by December 15th.

Thank you.

Consider…
You can’t go back
And erase the past
You can go forward to create a
future

Next month I have chosen to do a challenge called “Dressember.”
For this challenge I have committed to wear a dress everyday for the month of December in order to raise awareness (and funds) in the campaign against human trafficking and modern slavery.
So some of my poetry next month may reflect on this as I journey thru each day of the challenge.
I will be making daily posts on my personal blog about my journey regarding this challenge as well as posting pics and info about Dressember and the fight against human trafficking and abuse.
If any of you would like to follow me on this journey I invite you to subscribe to my other blog at: Blog | Leona J. Atkinson | Inspirational Writer/Artist

Each day
My ship sets sail
Traveling in calm waters
Or stormy, it always has a firm
Anchor
Cinquain

Upturned
Branches of hope,
Dreaming of spring’s promise,
Reach as if anticipating
New life
Cinquain

Secure
By a strong faith
In the power of God
Not in the wisdom of mankind
I stand

“Your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.”
