Is a burden wearing you down,
Like a heavy gown,
A weighted cloak or heavy yoke?
Are you being oppressed,
Or being tried to be blessed?
Is it just a test,
Or the enemy’s cruel jest?
Time and faith will tell,
If it’s from heaven or hell.

Oh my, mercy me
Tonight it ends
No more are we
Saving daylight
Standard will be
Courting darkness
Daylight will flee
And hide away
Til it’s set free
In the Springtime
Rhyme/Syllabic Verse (4 syllables)

Things are not always as they seem
Sometimes life is extreme
But don’t give up on your dream
In the middle of the stream
Dont let go of your steam
Though water is stirred
Vision blurred
Stay spurred
Try!

#OctPoWriMo Day 19
(Theme based on the famous line from movie “The Notebook”

Love never ends.
It’s easy to love someone
Who also loves you
Someone who’s true
Who’s patient and kind
And of the same mind
It’s easy to love that someone
It’s not easy to love someone
Who doesn’t love you
Someone who’s untrue
Who’s impatient and unkind
And of a different mind
It’s not easy to love that someone
But Jesus said to love everyone
Even that someone
Who doesn’t love you
Who’s impatient and untrue
Of a different mind or unkind
Who’s arrogant and rude everyday
Who selfishly insists on their own way
Loving everyone is not easy, tis true
But it’s something Jesus told us to do

Jesus said: “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you,…” John 13:34
What 1 Corinthians 13 says about Love:
Love is patient and kind;
love does not envy or boast;
it is not arrogant or rude
It does not insist on its own way;
it is not irritable or resentful;
it does not rejoice at wrongdoing,
but rejoices with the truth.
Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never ends.
OctPoWriMo Day 9
Theme: Love

Life has no awol
Large, Medium, or Small
Change visits all
Senryu/Rhyme

Have you ever been told “No!”
Stopped when you wanted to go
Denied passage within
Rejected for the color of your skin
Refuted for something you’ve said
Sought friendship but were scorned instead
Vetoed for taking a stand
Mocked for the goals you’ve planned
Nothing but bills in the mail
Everything you try seems to fail
You’re not alone my friend
I’ve gone round and round that bend
Someday our ships will come in
Someday it’ll be our turn to win!

“Never, Ever, Give Up!”
#OctPoWriMo Day 5
Prompts:
Denied, Refuted, Rejected, Spurned, Vetoed

Trying to go back to the beginning
Have to find away to erase
Need to change what happened
While in my genesis place
Looking for a way
First errs to chase
But its gone
Without trace
Can’t.

I wrote a poem today inside my head,
It’s positivity chased dread.
It’s words uplifted and carried,
Those dreary thoughts that tarried,
And freed my mind to see,
The joy awaiting me,
In a new day,
Where I may,
Start new!
True?
Reverse Etheree/Rhyme

Oft times nestle?
Or sometimes wrestle?
A broken vessel?
Not feeling very special?
Run to God, He’s your trestle
Tanka/Rhyme

Each day you were here
Your presence
Envoked me to cheer
But now I’m trading
Cheer away
Fragrance fading
Color growing dim
Life ebbing
Losing all your vim
I am losing you
Never more
To be within view
With a tear in my eye
My sweet rose
I bid you goodbye
Your petals I’ll keep
As they fall
Like tears I weep
