“This Too Shall Pass”

Photo of March 15 “The Grace of Encouragement”calendar page
My calendar today inspired this poem.

Troubles

Like storm clouds

Floating into our lives

Will flow out like river water

Fear not!

(My mom lived in and survived the Great Depression. “This Too Shall Pass” was one of her favorite sayings. It is also becoming one of mine.)

Humble abode, yet it’s the

One place where I can be

Myself.

Every man’s castle

Acrostic

In 1644, English judge Sir Edward Coke was quoted as saying, “For a man’s house is his castle”.

Rooted in the Word

Quote from Chuck Swindoll from his book “Growing Strong in the Seasons of Life”

How long

The winds do blow

Upon my weary head!

I dig in my heels, standing firm

In Him.

As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him,

rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.
