Morning Choice
Admonition
Keep your focus, keep your focus.
Though others may, you cannot.
Stay within your newly found locus.
Keep your focus, keep your focus.
Don’t listen to all their hocus.
Remember when tempted, the hard battle that you fought.
Keep your focus, keep your focus.
Though others may, you cannot.

Nature’s Captive
Foggy
White mist surrounds
Silencing nearly all sounds
I struggle to keep within bounds
White line
Tail lights
These help me to focus and see
I move slowly as can be
Want to be free
Fog lifts

Running in Circles
Side tracked
Lost my focus
Following rabbit trails
Did not keep to the beaten path
Off course

Take Time
“Take time to smell the flowers.”
My dad used to always say.
Stop in the middle if your busy life,
And take some time to pray.
Cease your constant rushing,
And focus on today.
For you often miss what’s important,
As you hurry along the way.
Your life will be much richer,
If you take some time each day,
To stop, look, and listen,
To what the things around you convey.

June’s Invitation
June’s fourth is calling me to “Come!
Visit before this day is done,
See the beauty created for you,
Smell the flowers, enjoy the sun.”
Yet, indoor tasks are pressing me
To focus on the mundane.
What shall I do? A choice is due,
For this June day will not come again.
