Tribute to the Dunes Theatre of Zion, Illinois  1948-2014
The Dunes was torn down today.  I and my family have many fond memories of watching movies there.

We were wishing it would have been saved and restored.

Adieu to April

Adieu to April--Farewell poem--Nonet

Today brings to an end the April Poem a Day Challenge.  This was my second year of participation and I have greatly enjoyed it!
Since I have been writing a Poem a Day for over one year, writing a poem a day was not that big of a challenge to me anymore,
therefore, I chose to challenge myself further this month by not only writing a poem a day, but to also write a different form of poem each day,
plus I also chose to create some form of artwork daily for each poem.
It was a challenge–but one I really enjoyed!!
Many thanks to NaPoWriMo 2014 and WD 2014 PAD Challenge for their daily prompts which often inspired me!

It’s National Opposites Day!

Shall I say goodbye when I mean hello?
And should I stay when I really want to go?
On this day of opposites,
Does anyone know what really fits?
If I say what I mean,
Will I mean what I say?
Oh Lord help me make it through this crazy day!
Perhaps it would be better to stay in bed,
And just skip this day instead,
But if sunrise is sunset, it’s over before it begins,
So I shall just play along ’til it ends!

Goodbye Thanksgiving

In the news today I see
Christmas Sales have begun
That’s what retailers are promoting
Now that Halloween is done
No more waiting for Black Friday
Stores are open Thanksgiving Day
Cyber Monday is no more
Shoppers need more time they say
So forget about Thanksgiving
That Holiday is obsolete
Consumers need extra time to shop
Not give thanks, stay home, and eat.
