Memo to Believers from God

Quote from Chuck Swindoll

That guy that walks dogs everyday,

Elderly man with head of gray,

Have you ever asked him

How to get to heaven?

The people on the street,

Each one you meet,

All wanted.

Tell them!

—God

Nonet

This poem was inspired by a quote on my daily calendar “The Grace of Encouragement” by Charles R. Swindoll.

I have had this calendar for many years and it has inspired me over and over.

Millions of lost souls

Afore eternity’s gates

Hearing the good news.

Blinded eyes see the Son, as

Tongues share the gospel.

Tanka

whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.

2 Corinthians 4:4 NKJV

For the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost. Matthew 18:11 NKJV

My Life from A to Z

Letters A and Z

Alien

Because I was without

Christ, living in

Darkness

Ensnared, a

Foreigner to Israel, without

God and without

Hope, a gentile in

Israel and to all

Jews

Knowing not the

Love of God, believing in

Myths

Not knowing the truth

Of the wonderful

Promises of God

Questioning life’s purpose

Running from truth, a

Stranger to the covenant of Promise

Then, through God’s grace

Understanding the gospel brought me to

Victory in Christ, and I was a

Wanderer no more, a

Xenos no more, I belonged and was

Yoked to Christ forever in

Zion, the New Jerusalem.

#NaPoWriMo—Day 14–Off Prompt

Posted in April 2019, Christian, NaPoWriMo 2019, Rhyme, Syllabic Verse

If

Ten Commandments

If I didn’t know You

As I truly do

I could tell a lie

And not blink an eye

Worship an idol

With any title

Use your name in vain

Or kill like Cain

Even cheat and steal

Without any ideal

Chosing not to laud

Parents and You, God

If I didn’t know You

As I truly do

I would break all Ten

As do some men

Mankind unaware

Living without care

Never to repent

On a knee that’s bent

Who’ve never heard

The Covenant word

If them I don’t tell

I’m guilty as well

Syllabic Verse/Rhyme

(Based on the Ten Commandments Of God)

#NaPoWriMo-Day 6-Prompt: Today, write a poem that emphasizes the power of “if,” of the woulds and coulds and shoulds of the world.

The Light of the Gospel

Candle light

Light, radiating,

Reflecting His image,

Casts luminous glow,

Dispelling darkness.

Glorious Gospel

Of Jesus The Christ

Syllabic Verse (5 syllables)

Jesus Christ is the True Light but

…the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. 2 Corinthians 4:4 ESV

Just listen for God’s call

So follow Him today

In your heart believe

Salvation you’ll receive

confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,

and believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead,
