based on Romans 8:25: …if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.

I wrote this poem, sadly, because of a conversation with a person who is dear to me that was experiencing feelings of giving up because of recent circumstances in his life. As we talked, he asked me what empathy meant. I explained it’s meaning. His tears moved me to realize that is what he was looking for, and not finding it, he was too weak to continue his search. The poem is written to express his feelings. However, I have hope that my actions and prayers will be the helping hand he needs at this time.

Beware of the thief in the night
He only comes to kill, steal and destroy
His entrance is a sorry plight
To remove peace and take away joy
He only comes to kill, steal and destroy
His agenda includes an evil plan
To remove peace and take away joy
And he uses confusion and chaos whenever he can
His agenda includes an evil plan
He kills hope and destroys dreams.
And he uses confusion and chaos whenever he can
His purpose is to remove all good it seems
He kills hope and destroys dreams
His entrance is a sorry plight
His purpose is to remove all good it seems
Beware of the thief in the night

Christmas is a special time for me!
Yet I know for some it may not be.
And so at this time of the year,
When my heart is full of cheer,
I want to also acknowledge you,
Who may not be feeling as I do.
Though my wish is bright and clear,
For a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year,
I want to offer these thoughts too,
Of Happy Holidays and Seasons Greetings to you.
And even for those who don’t celebrate,
I do not hesitate,
To wish you well in all you do,
And offer my thanks to you.
I appreciate all who follow me,
And where ever you may be,
I send my heartfelt greetings,
and hope for many more poetic meetings!

Prayer plant flourishing!
Plants reflect environment?
Peace plant doing poorly,
But as long as there is life,
There is hope for peace to grow.
