It comes and goes
That smiling sunshine
I wish it would stay
Longer than a day
One day I’m in boots
The next in sandels
One day its raincoats
The next sunglasses
Oregon springtime
Its a guessing game

Believers, we were
Not created to be pew sitters
We are Living Stones
Senryu
And you are living stones that God is building into his spiritual temple. What’s more, you are his holy priests. Through the mediation of Jesus Christ, you offer spiritual sacrifices that please God. 1 Peter 2:5 NLT

Sound of a lawnmower
The smell of freshly cut grass

Thursday is usually the day the landscapers cut the grass here in the complex where I live. Since today was a warm sunny day ( in the 70’s) I was outside tending to my plants and experienced that smell of freshly cut grass, which I love, and it also brought back some childhood memories of summertime Saturdays. 😊

Year’s last Supermoon
Haiku
“A super moon is the result of the full moon coinciding with the moon’s closest point of orbit in relation to the Earth, which is known as perigee. The result is that the moon is not only full, but looks closer to us and brighter than usual. On average, a super moon is seven percent bigger and 15 percent brighter than a full moon.
The May Super Flower Moon is the last super moon this year.”

Windchimes
Without the wind
Are hanging around
And not fulfilling their creator’s
Purpose
Cinquain
My daughter bought me this beautiful wind chime today as a Mother’s Day gift. I love the look of it as it hangs on my patio, yet it’s real beauty is revealed in the wind as it moves and creates the tinkling sounds it was created to do.
So we, believers, will fulfill the purpose God created us for as we move in the wind of the Holy Spirit.
“The wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going; so is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
John 3:8
I glorified You on the earth, having accomplished the work which You have given Me to do. John 17:4

Wherever we awake
Everyday we have a choice
Look on the bright side
Senryu
I have the little saying “Positive Thinking Area” which I clipped it out of a magazine long ago, hanging in the hallway of my home, and often times my eyes just happen to fall upon it at exactly the right time that I need to refocus my thinking to be more positive.
I have little quotes, poems, pictures, scriptures, etc posted and scattered all about my home as reminders to me to keep thinking positive and to look on the bright side of life. For each day I awake is a blessing to me and I don’t want to waste a minute of it entertaining negative thoughts.

Red raspberries from grandpa’s garden
Secretly picked, (or so we thought…)
A little bit of sweetness,
A quick pick and fast run,
Tasted extra good,
Covertly eaten,
In a tree.

As I was eating a piece of cheesecake topped with fresh red raspberries today, the memory of grandpa’s red raspberries came to mind.
My grandpa lived in the country and always had a big garden. He grew strawberries, potatoes, carrots, radishes, tomatoes, beans, peas, sweet corn and much more. I loved eating all the bounty from his garden but my most favorite was the big red raspberries from the berry bushes along the fence.
And even though we kids were warned to stay out of the garden and berries unless grandpa was with us, we used to sometimes try to sneak in to see if we could pick and run without being seen! 😊
But alas, grandpa would always see us or catch us, (most of the time,) and then we’d get a stern talking to from him. 😊
