Rose is a Rose, is a Rose

The City of Roses displays
Her colorful blooms for all

Welcome!
My name is Mat
I meet and greet you daily
I put myself out there for you
Just smile
Acknowlege that I am sincere
My heart’s very fragile
Not a Door Mat
I’m real

A Greeter is a person who greets people entering a store, church service, or other public place. When I wrote this poem I was thinking of Dennis who is a greeter at our local Walmart store. He is always friendly and outgoing no matter the day or time. He always greets with a smile, handshake, fist bump and good word. So many people appreciate his sincere friendly attitude. The world can surely use more people like this!

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. Galatians 5:22,23

There once was a brown squirrel
Who upon a bird feeder did swirl
He tried to get a treat
But trouble he did meet
When he got dizzy from the twirl
