Today is National Button Day!
I love buttons and have many memories of going through my mom’s old tin filled with buttons.

Fourty short years ago,
A tiny child was born.
On this day in the morn,
The title Mom was first worn,
And I was all aglow,
On this day in the morn,
Fourty short years ago.

September 21, 1973,
Was quite a special day for me.
It was a day like no other,
For that’s when I first became a mother.

My mom’s day of birth.
She is no longer here on earth.
Heaven celebrates
Her presence within its gates.
I remember her and give thanks.

In remembrance of my Mom who was born August 25, 1915 and passed into heaven October 10, 2001
