Memo: From Me

Gray Squirrel

Dear Gray Squirrel,

Tell me, what are you looking for!

The bird food you do deplete,

Yet you keep passing by my door,

Is your search never complete?

Your manners I do deplore!

Always looking for a tasty treat!

You’ve had that, yet look for more!

Your greed knows no defeat!

Rhyme

This poem was inspired by the gray squirrel that lives in a tree in my backyard who seems to never get full nor tired. He is always eating or searching. He is cute but can really be a pest at times! 😊

Joyful

Happiness—Willow Tree Angel figurine

The Angel of Happiness came

Whirling and twirling, and she

Sent fear and sorrow to hide.

Singing with heart full of joy,

Praising the Lord God above,

Dancing with arms open wide,

She showed me how to live,

In peace and sweet harmony,

At morning and eventide.

No Time for Art

Art Studio in my home

Ready and Waiting

Yet, the chair sits empty

The Art Studio

Word Lune

This year I took up learning to draw and started with a draw-a-day challenge on Instagram. I really enjoyed it and learned a lot and was getting better day by day(I thought) but I wanted a dedicated space to draw and paint where I could leave my supplies out and handy. ( I had been using my dining room table and shuffling supplies back and forth which was inconvenient. So, I was able to turn a spare bedroom into my Art Studio and I was so happy and excited! But since that time life happenings have somehow kept me away from having time to draw, hence the poem…. I do hope to get back at it soon though 😊

A Winter’s Delight

Ornamental Cabbage and Kale In Winter coved by raindrops

Cabbages and Kale

Wear Ruffles and Pearls

In the land of kings

They dance til dawn

While sparrows watch

And nightingale sings

Their splendor soon fades

As warm breezes kiss

And sunshine brings

The end of Winter’s ball

And thus herald in

Sights which are Spring’s

Squirrel Saga Continues

Squirrel in bird feeder eating seeds

Mr. Gray Squirrel is back today

Eating from the feeder like it’s okay

“You’re a funny looking bird” I say

My comment causes him no dismay

“Mighty fine sunflower seeds” says he

“Quite worth my trip down the tree”

“Ah yes, but not meant for you” says me

With a smile and nod, away he does flee

To Be Continued….I imagine
