A Leaf in Summer

Brown dried up leaf in summer

Out of place?

Out of season?

A misfit in my path?

Or a reminder sent by God?

A note

To awaken me to count the days,

Wasting not a moment?

“Redeem the time”

He says.

Priorities

Hands clasped in prayer

So much that’s new

So much to do

So much to say

So much to pray

Syllabic Verse

Take time to pray

Prayer is man’s greatest power!

W. Clement Stone

Time to Pray

I got up early one morning

and rushed right into the day;

I had so much to accomplish

that I didn’t have time to pray.

Problems just tumbled about me,

and heavier came each task.

“Why doesn’t God help me?” I wondered.

He answered, “You didn’t ask.”

I wanted to see joy and beauty,

but the day toiled on, gray and bleak;

I wondered why God didn’t show me.

He said, “But you didn’t seek.”

I tried to come into God’s presence;

I used all my keys at the lock.

God gently and lovingly chided,

“My child, you didn’t knock.”

I woke up early this morning,

and paused before entering the day;

I had so much to accomplish

that I had to take time to pray.

Inner Reflection

Kindness in a person graphic

Kindness, a treasure

That’s outwardly visable,

Comes from within

Senryu

Guard well within yourself that treasure, kindness. Know how to give without hesitation, how to lose without regret, how to acquire without meanness. —George Sand

Presidental Proverb

Teddy Roosevelt pic and quote

“Speak softly”

Said Roosevelt

“And carry a big stick”

Passive-Agressive acumen

Old adage

Cinquain

On my walk today I met a gentleman who, in actuality, was walking with a big stick.

As we passed by one another and nodded a greeting, I spoke the quote to him and he smiled. “ Teddy Roosevelt” he said.

“ Oh, I thought it was Snoopy!” I said laughing.

When I got home a Google search proved the stick walker was right!

Guess I got my history lesson for the day!

Plus, a poem inspiration. 😊
