Upturned
Branches of hope,
Dreaming of spring’s promise,
Reach as if anticipating
New life

On a red carpet
Tossing leaves of welcome
November swept in
As the barren trees shivered
And the crescent moon vanished

So many colors
Dot the green
From just one tree
Syllable Line
I was out walking about my yard today just admiring all the different colors of the fallen leaves. There are so many variations of colors it is amazing.

Upon my window
The winds of time beat softly
Autumn leaves swirl
Things are changing again
Life keeps moving forward

As fast as she came,
She left us.

Promises
Of sunny days
Dissolve as the dark clouds linger.
Each day summer’s warmth is cut short
It seems.
Cinquain
This summer we have not seen many sunny warm days.
The weather has been usually cool and even rainy.
Our fruit and vegetables have been aching for sunshine in order to ripen.
Each day I check the Weather App and smile as it tells me the high will be 80-85 and then as the day progresses my smile fades as the sun stays hidden and the temp doesn’t rise as predicted.
I keep hoping though that one of these days I will see summer arise again!

Roses are abloom
Among fast growing green grass
Baby birds in flight
Sunshine visits us daily
Summer finally arrived!

The time has come
May’s skirts rustle as she tiptoes
Through the dancing tulips
Sowing seeds of florescence
Carpeting the world with flowers
