Winter has returned with a vengeance here in the Pacific Northwest. Very unusual weather for us in the Willamette Valley.
Snow White’s Awakening
That first look
Into eyes of blue
Quizzical
Admiring
Rescued from a bad dream by
The awakening kiss

(This poem was written in response to a suggestion made by our poetry class instructor. She said to imagine what Snow White felt like when she first opened her eyes after the Prince kissed her. So…I imagined…and this Shadorma was the result.😊)

Shine your light
Let your sparkle show
Make it bright
Glitter-Glow
Stamp out the darkness of night
Wherever you go

Society’s Bench
Charming bench,
A place to rest
In quiet peace,
Never used.
Though many pass by everyday,
None have time.

Worry masks peace
Anger masks calmness
Lies mask truth
Doubt masks trust
Fear masks opportunity
Bitterness masks love

No end in sight
Just rain, constant rain
Pouring rain
Pounding rain
Everyday, every hour

Autumn
Leaves fall
Nature prepares
For its sleep
Flowers fade
Grapes wither on the vine
Bird song quiets down

Wind blowing,
All Rivers flowing
To the sea.
