Many unspoken dreams
Live silently within our hearts
Nourished by our hopes.
Someday they might come true,
If we have the courage to speak.

Many fall in it.
Many seem to get over it.
Many do find it.
What is it that I speak of?
The thing all hearts seek–it’s love!

A word
Spoken timely
Has power to create
A new life or renew a hope
Speak life
Restore
Life with words of encouragement
Use words as building blocks
See broken dreams
Revived

My mouth wants to speak
But not a sound will come forth
At a loss for words
My heart cries out in despair
The Creator hears and responds

Clerihew poem
Leona J. Atkinson 07-10-13
This poem was written in honor of NATIONAL CLERIHEW DAY which is celebrated on July 10 of each year.
The Clerihew poem was invented by Edmund Clerihew Bently, (1875-1956).
A Clerihew is a whimsical, four-line biographical poem, in an aabb form.
“Think it, don’t say it”
I’ve often said.
Cruel words are better,
Just left in the head.
For when your day is over ,
You will be so glad instead
If you hold your tongue from speaking,
Those negative thoughts in your head.
