Monday Meeting

Two Daffodils
I met two cheery friends along the way

Who had something important to say

Daffy and Dil quite excitedly announced

“Springtime officially begins today!”

Daffodil Day

Daffodil Day, sunshine, daffodils in bloom
Let not your melancoly heart hold to drear

The daffodils speak of Spring coming soon

Should your nostalgic mind be given to fear

Take a stroll through the Daffodils this mid-noon

No matter the gloomy forecasts you hear

Yellow Daffodils sing Springtime’s tune

So come, shed Winter’s heavy cloak of grey,

Take a walk among the Daffodils today

The Flowers

tulip field--french--Haiku
Original Poetry and Photograph by Leona J. Atkinson ©2016
based on what I saw in the last line of this French poem that was titled:
“Suite” (from Le Dit des couleurs, 2003)

This is the French poem
les fleurs viennent
de l’envers de l’île
et y retournent

This is its English translation
the flowers come
from the island’s underside
and go back there
