DANCE Acrostic

This DANCE Acrostic is an original I wrote for the Praise and Worship Dance Team that I am on.  It really is our Mission Statement.
We do monthly presentations at Retirement Homes, Churches, and other Events.  Our dance is a mix of Jewish Folk Dance, C&W Line Dance, Interpretive Worship Dance, and other sources.  Our music is Contemporary Christian with some Old Hymns–but often we do
incorporate some modern Holiday music too.  (Just last Christmas I had fun dressing up as Frosty the Snowman and dancing around!)
Our desire is to create a fun atmosphere where we can share the love of God through dance and music.  We often use tambourines and worship flags in our presentations also.  I invite you to visit our website at: www.eomdt.org  for more information and photos.

An Ode to an Old Friend

The Pink ChairYou sat there with me, in good times and bad,
Sometimes you were the closest friend, in the natural, that I had.
You supported me when I needed to weep, and
You often held me until I fell asleep.
With you, I would spend time, either alone or with family,
thinking, praying, reading, studying or just dreaming about a future journey.
You always went with me each time I moved,
and because of you my life much improved.
I’d curl up so cozily in your place,
and God would meet me in that space.
He’d talk to me in my head, or remind me in His word, of things He’d said.
It was with you that I learned so many things,
about how to reach out and share my blessings.
You were always there to comfort and hold,
even though you were becoming very old.
Your age made you look a bit worn out,
but in your ability to stand firm I did not doubt.
But then the time came that I had to let you go,

How I’d manage without you, I did not know.
At that time I no longer had the room nor space,
And I let you go on to another place.
Someone else took you in for their own,
and I am sure gave you a great new home.
But I just wanted to tell you that I miss you so,
and wish I wouldn’t have had to let you go.
It may sound funny, but it is oh, so true,
Old Pink Chair, I really miss you !

A Word

A word came into my life today,
and it was totally brand new.
It caused me to stop and think
of what I was about to do.

It made me realize
that words can change a life,
Their entrance can bring about
the beginning or ending to strife.

Spoken in just a moment,
at the proper time and place,
a word can make a difference
of winning or losing a race.

For good words are treasures,
golden nuggets received along the way
hold them close ,dearly,
for they can truly make your day.

And then, when the time is right,
choose to let those good words go,
and right into the life of another
some goodness you will sow.

Daily Prayer

This daily prayer I do say.
Lord, in heaven on high,
Lead and guide me to Your way.

Lord, protect me I pray.
From all evil that might come nigh.
This daily prayer I do say,

Whether I be at work or play,
I ask that You, my needs supply.
Lead and guide me to Your way.

Teach me what I should say.
Show me Your word to apply.
This daily prayer I do say.

Lord, help me make it through this day.
If my plans go awry,
Lead and guide me to Your way.

Help me, my words to weigh,
That You I might glorify.
This daily prayer I do say,
Lead and guide me to Your way.

Villanelle

(This is my first attempt at writing a Villanelle.  It was very challenging.)
