A fallen tree stump
Inspiration takes root
Rock garden springs up
Creativity of one hand
Causes neighbor unity
Tanka
I am so inspired to see the creativity that continues to grow in my neighborhood backyard. It really is a testimony to the ripple effect.
Yesterday my next door neighbor told me to come see what two other nearby neighbors had begun doing in their yards lately, and it was a beautiful creation of plants and flowers that definitely improved the property and visually brightened our total backyard landscape.
These neighbors hold me the other neighbors next to us will be continuing this theme all along the backside of our building which will eventually create a continuous stream of beauty all long the area where once there was just dirt, mud or dead grass and weeds.
It made me so happy to see, and I found tears of joy start glistening in my eyes, because all this began from a storm last year that caused one fallen tree. When it’s debris was hauled away all there was left was a small stump sticking up in the middle of our backyard. Looking at that every morning inspired me to want to beautify that area by sitting a plant on the stump and then to create a rock garden around it.
So I began. I put a plant on the stump, placed a few rocks around it and planted some ground cover. It began to take shape, and it was a great improvement to the yard. I figured it would be a work in progress as I pondered what else could go in there.
A couple of my next door neighbors loved the look and asked if they could help or.add to it and it has now grown into a beautiful centerpiece in our backyard that has spawned an outgrowth of other areas of beauty all around us as the creativity grew.
What a beautiful ripple effect!
Objects left behind,
Old out dated wooden lamps
And a tamborine,
That made no sound because
It had no jingles,
Only leather cords hanging
In braids, when shaken
They made no noise at all,
In someone’s storage shed.
Choka
In my dream last night I was a worker who was part of a cleanup team that cleared out and cleaned up houses that had been recently vacated for some reason, perhaps by people moving away or from them passing on from this life.
In this one particular scene I and others in my group, who I don’t know, no one was revealed to me, came upon a storage shed that was filled with old, quality made, wooden objects, like hand carved lamps and such. One of my companions wondered if the people would be returning to take these items as they seemed to be of value, but though they were beautifully carved wood they were outdated, and I thought that might be the reason they were left behind.
At the end of the shelf I saw a tambourine, and when I picked it up it made no sound. I saw it was because it had no jingles, only braided leather ropes hanging down. I swished it back and forth but it was silent.
Then I awoke and am now pondering what this dream might mean, either for me or someone else.
One thought I had was that instruments or objects weren’t being used for the purpose they’d been created for.
The tambourine wasn’t meant to be silent. It’s jingles we’re missing rendering it useless, but why it had leather braids is still a mystery to me…
Also, the fine quality carved wood lamps were not being used for the purpose they were created for. They were being hidden in a storage unit, sitting idle in a shelf, not showing the beautiful workmanship of their creator and not shining their light as they were supposed to do.
Hmmmm… interesting thoughts…
(I tried drawing as best I could the images I saw in my dream, also now wondering if the carved diamond shapes have any meaning…)
Your comments are welcomed. Any thoughts??
Thank you.
Believers, we were
Not created to be pew sitters
We are Living Stones

And you are living stones that God is building into his spiritual temple. What’s more, you are his holy priests. Through the mediation of Jesus Christ, you offer spiritual sacrifices that please God. 1 Peter 2:5 NLT
Windchimes
Without the wind
Are hanging around
And not fulfilling their creator’s
Purpose
Cinquain
My daughter bought me this beautiful wind chime today as a Mother’s Day gift. I love the look of it as it hangs on my patio, yet it’s real beauty is revealed in the wind as it moves and creates the tinkling sounds it was created to do.
So we, believers, will fulfill the purpose God created us for as we move in the wind of the Holy Spirit.
“The wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going; so is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
John 3:8
I glorified You on the earth, having accomplished the work which You have given Me to do. John 17:4
Stately they stand
Strong branches holding new life
Sheltered from storms
As wind and rain beat
Steadily upon their mossy boughs
Stately they stand
Green giants waving
Strong branches holding new life
All across our land
Some are chosen
As lumber to keep people
Sheltered from storms

Are you
Facing a rock
Being seen as unwanted
Seeing your chance for wishes
Cut down
Before
They had the opportunity to
Become airbourne
Never give up
Stand firm
Dig in
Let your faith grow
Deep, be tenacious, for
Someday, someone will stop
Admire
And see
Your beauty and your true worth
For we all have a purpose
That’s waiting to be
Fulfilled
Double Butterfly Cinquain
Today as I was out walking I stopped near this big rock where I saw two dandelions blooming and one that had gone to seed lying down on the ground as if crushed, probably by the landscapers mower hitting it.
It intrigued me enough to snap a picture and also was inspiration for this poem.
Raised up for what?
To show His power in you!
Declare His name
Everywhere you travel
That’s His purpose for you
Tanka
Based on Exodus 9:16 scripture where the Lord was speaking to Moses regarding His purpose in dealing with Pharaoh. Just as the Lord raised up Moses for that purpose, so has He done the same for all of us who believe.
We all have a purpose. He created each of us to fulfill His plan. Wherever we are today we can show forth His power as we declare His name. It’s not about us, it’s about Him.
The excited butterfly
Shouted at his friend below:
“Fly! Reach for the sky!”
“My time has not yet come”
Said the waiting caterpillar.
Tanka
In its own appointed time, eventually every caterpillar will fly, for it will transform into either a butterfly or a moth.
Perhaps that is the same timing for some people, therefore we should not judge.
To everything there is a season,
A time for every purpose under heaven:…
