My Sheltering Place

Comfortable, cozy cushions

Old fashioned, plump, place

#NaPoWriMo Day 2–Prompt: Place

This old couch might be out of style and unattractive to some, but it’s my comfort place and where I often go to relax in the mornings to have my coffee and view the world outside my window.

This is where I often get inspirations for my poetry also.

Sometimes I look at it and can’t believe I purchased it second hand for only $7.00!

It’s a treasure to me and my favorite place, now more than ever since we are in this “shelter in place” time.

Where is your favorite place? Are you able to access it often?

  1. It looks really cozy, Leona. I can see why you like it so much. $7.00? Wow, that was a bargain. This may sound odd, but my bed is my place of refuge. And I don’t mean a place to sleep in the daytime. I have pillows stacked high and that is where I do all my praying and Bible reading. I have pillows under my knees, too. I drink my morning coffee there, and my cocoa afterwards while I pray. And that is where I get my inspiration spiritually, and sometimes for writing, too. My computer is in the corner of the same room, so if I need it while I’m studying, it’s quite handy. Your poem has a happy, comfortable ‘feel’ to it.
