My grand-daughter is a very talented artist in acrylic painting and charcoal drawing, especially in doing portraits.
Yesterday when we got together to do our crafting project she surprised me by saying” I want to try something different”
And so she did! She stepped out of her comfort zone and created something “Wonderful” in mixed media paper collage. 😊

That’s great. Do you think some area of art will become her vocation?
No, though she is very talented and enjoys it, her heart has always been to work with animals. She hopes to pursue a career as a zoo keeper or in the veterinary field.
That’s really interesting. I don’t think I ever knew anyone who wanted to be a zoo keeper. She sounds like a fascinating young lady. You must be proud of her. I think sometimes it’s good not to make a career out of a talent like that. I worked in graphic arts for years and during that time, art didn’t seem like fun any more and my hobby got abandoned for the most part for years. This way, she will always have something she enjoys to relax with.
Exactly! Never thought of it that way but very true.
And I know a young lady that is a zoo keeper. She is in charge of penguins and sometimes sloths. She’s worked at different zoos so far California, Hawaii and now Nashville. She loves it. So that’s what my grand-daughter hopes to do. Her fiancé has similar feelings towards doing that also so they make a great couple. 😊
