Blind Birds?

Doves, Birdbath, yard, springtime

Blessings

Within their reach

Abundantly given

Yet they seek the world’s meager scraps

Instead

Cinquain

My daughter sat on her porch and watched the two doves walk down the street together as if they were humans out for an evening stroll.

They had visited her yard previously to check it out, tasting of its goodness, yet today they bypassed her fresh green yard overflowing with beautiful foliage, birdseed, and a water filled birdbath, to forage in the dry, dusty gutter. Were they blind to the goodness nearby that was offered to them so freely, or did they just stubbornly choose to ignore it, determinedto live their in own way?

It makes one ponder if we humans are the same. Do we walk blindly through this world, seeking to find blessings and happiness in our own way while all the while passing by the goodness God has provided to those who will stop to believe and receive From Him?

Solomon Says:

Bench in the Sunset

Life’s on rerun

Nothing new under the sun

It all has been done

Haiku

The thing that hath been, it is thatwhich shall be; and that which is done isthat which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.

Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us.

There is no remembrance of former things; neither shall there be any remembrance of things that are to come with those that shall come after. Ecclesiastes 1: 9-11

Sense or Nonsense?

I see the look of the musician,

I think he’s angry at the omission.

He finds it hard to comprehend

Overshadowing the note’s loose end

Causing a chirping like a flamingo

Creating a strange and quirky lingo.

Spoken badly by the blues singer,

Please don’t let this composition linger

Music and song need thought and time

Senses suffer in nonsense rhyme

( I found an online Poem Generator that I decided to try out today.  It had me type in nouns, verbs, adjectives, etc and then it generates what is supposed to be a poem! 🙂  haha.  However, I took what seemed to me to be complete nonsense and rewrote it to at least, perhaps, have some meaning. 🙂
Any thoughts?   What do you think?  Does it make any sense or is it just nonsense?

Poetic Ramblings

Wind, water, plants

Poetry or Prose? Only the scholar knows what label thoughts on paper take or whether lines run together or break, the rules. Do I write to please a scholar, or to empty my head of floating syllables that wake me in the night? My answer is that I must ignor the scholar’s frown as I write down those words, thoughts, feelings in my head, waiting to be said, before they fly away to the land of dread, where they are doomed to fade away beneath piles of broken dreams and things unspoken, left to lie and die in the dust of lost opportunity and missed chance. Form can be a friend, I treasure it to no end, but there are times when thoughts run free and words won’t bend to fit in a syllabic line. So, prose then, can be my friend, as I randomly write into the night, words running ahead the thoughts in my head, tempting my fingers to tap the keys and create a space for them to live on paper.
