Whom have I but You?
To help when I’m sad and blue,
To plant a new seed,
To lift me in times of need,
To listen to prayers I plead.
Tanka
(Based on Psalm 73: 25-26)
Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee.
My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.
Thank You Lord, for always bring there for me, to listen, care and help.

World, Flesh or Devil
Daily temptations
Christ the perfect pearl
Daily peace and joy
With either we pay a price
Choice is ours alone
Which will you partake
Syllabic Verse
Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it. Matthew 13:46

My joyful journey
Brings me beside still waters
Trusting my Shepherd
To lead through pastures of green
Peacefully I stroll
Pockets filled with promises
Walking with my King
Over mountains high and wide
And valleys deep and narrow
Choka
(Based on Psalm 23)

I passed by an old friend today
Tattered, torn and weather worn
From years of dedication
He still stood proudly there
Though faded, not jaded
To remind me
Of freedom
My friend

The night sky hovers
The trees raise to greet
Strawberry Moon glows radiant

Smile! Imagine Peace.
You Matter. Breathe.
Be Happy! And Dream.
Have Faith and Hope
Syllablic Verse
My grand-daughter and I had a “painting day” together today. We had fun painting inspirational rocks to put in my rock garden.
She was very creative and imaginative and turned two of the rocks into a horse face! 😊

There’s no place like home

Dorothy said it best: “ There’s no place like home”
I just got home from a 4 day visit to the coast, where I had a wonderful time sightseeing, spending time at the ocean beach collecting rocks and shells, meeting new people, eating great food staying at a wonderful Inn and just having a great adventure.
But, arriving home, walking into my cozy living room and relaxing on my comfy couch is the best feeling.
It’s nice to get away but it’s always good to come home.
And I am giving thanks this evening that I have a nice home to come to.

You matter
So bloom
Wherever
Whenever
You can
Alone?
So what!
Someone
Will notice
Your smile
Perhaps
You will
Cheer them
Along
Their way
Syllabic Verse
Yesterday on my walk I was tired from the uphill climb to get to the grocery store and then on my way back I was burdened down with the two heavy bags I was carrying.
I stopped to rest on a bench and happened to notice a solitary Buttercup blooming. The little waxy bright yellow flower brought a smile to my face as it looked so cheerful. Even though it was not very big, nor in a prominent place, it still bloomed and in doing so made a difference in my life that day.
Remember—You Matter—wherever you are, bloom where you are planted, and you will make someone’s day better.

Once upon a tree
Crab leaves his comfort zone
Unhappily everafter
Senryu
While on a recent visit to an Oregon coastal town I came upon this unusual sight as I was out walking to the beach.
There, high in a bush, was a crab. It was not alive, but it looked real.
I was puzzled at how it had gotten there but I never did find out, so I imagined the positive and decided it must have went on an adventure one day, took a challenge from a seagull to climb a tree and ended up not being able to get back down.
The positive part is that it was adventurous, it left it’s comfort zone and took a chance, many of us don’t do that out of fear or complacity, and even though perhaps the crab didn’t end up with the happy ending he’d hoped for, at least he won at his life’s challenge and
had the satisfaction that he tried something new.
Something to think about….
