How will I know
When the time is right
To leave or go?
How will I know
To say yes or no,
To run or to fight?
How will I know,
When the time is right?

It is of the LORD’S mercies (goodness, kindness, favor)
that we are not consumed, (destroyed, ended)
because his compassions ( tender love, caring) fail not.
They ( goodness, kindness, favor, caring, tender love) are new every morning:
great is thy faithfulness )
Lamentations 3:22-23
If God offers us the chance to have a marvelous day every morning, why do we settle for less?

For many a year
I lived with my greatest fear.
Controlled by his power,
I used to cower
At the thought of leaving him.
But as my eyes became dim,
I had to make a choice
To listen to him, or another’s voice
Who was telling me
From this fear I had to flee.
So as God held my hand,
I made a stand!
I faced that fear, told it to go.
It stared at me, and it said “NO!”
Knees shaking, I dug in my feet,
I was determined it to defeat!
I stood my ground,
New strength I found,
To conquer fear’s intimidating frown,
And make it shrink, and back down.
And then with God’s power I overcame,
I crushed that fear in Jesus’ Name!

The pathway to your greatest potential is straight through your greatest fears! —Craig Groeschel

What will you be today?
A beautiful bird
Singing a cheerful song,
Or a negative voice
That tears down others hopes?
What will you be today?
A beautiful flower
Sharing its sweet fragrance,
Or a cold bitter brook
Drowning in past regrets?
What will you be today?
A heart filled with love
Spreading joy to everyone,
Or just an empty shell
Casting shadows of doubt?
What will you be today?
The choice is yours alone.
You can change the world
Or let the world change you.
Syllabic Verse (6 syllables per line)

I hold
Today in my hand
What shall I do with it?
Use it for good before its gone?
It’s my choice
I can choose to just waste it
And throw it all away
Or expend it
For good

Plans are often made
From the inside looking out
Or from the outside
As someone’s looking in
What is it you see?
Two different perspectives
Are presented
In a vista from within
Or an angle from without

Seek and ye shall find.
What is it that you search for?
Are you in the right place?
Acorns aren’t found beneath
The branches of Maple trees

I was prompted to write this poem today as I happened to see a little gray squirrel searching for food just outside my window. The little guy was actively checking out every flower pot, tree and place in the yard apparently looking for something to fill up his winter pantry. However, the trees in my backyard are only Maple and Evergreen, so he was coming up empty if he was looking for acorns. This caused me to consider what it was I was looking for in life and to ask myself if I was looking for it in the right places. Something we all should stop and think about occasionally
