Each day is a delight
My garden is my happy place
Visitors welcomed
Haiku
As my grand-daughter and I sat out on my patio chatting and drinking our coffee this past Sunday afternoon a Raven stopped by for a visit. He must have been very thirsty because he wasn’t at all shy or fearful. He just flew right in so very close to us and proceeded to drink from the birdbath which was less than 12” from where we were sitting! Such a fun experience and visit! Glad we had our cell phone cameras to capture the moment. 😊
Some sounds delight
Some sounds are soothing
Birdsong awakens
Haiku
I was thinking about sounds this evening and how they affect our lives. Some annoy, interrupt, cause alarm or tears.
Others sooth, delight, cheer or bring laughter.
I wonder how many of us are conscious of the sounds we emit each day and how they might affect others around us.
Something to think about…
A culinary delight!
When I first met you,
It was true love at first sight!
Especially so,
After taking that
Very first
Bite!
EPULAERYU: (7 lines–33 syllables–7-5-7-5-5-3-1 About a culinary treat or favorite food. Ends with an exclamation point! = !)
I first saw and tasted Pizza in the late 1950’s in a small Italian restaurant in Kenosha, Wisconsin. My older sister had discovered it through eating out with some of her high school friends and excitedly told our family about this wonderful new food item. So our whole family went to see what it was and we all loved it! It ended up being my dad’s favorite food 😊

A delight to the eyes
Bright and bold, soft and fragile
The flowers of summer
Haiku
Waking to the sound
Of a dove’s soft cooing,
My sleepy eyes delight
At sunshine, and the morning
Sounds of baby birds.
Taste awakening anew,
I touch life boldly
Smelling it’s fragrant winds that
Promise new life again.

Green leaves on branches form
First red rose blooms
Haiku
The Lord has future plans for me that are good.
I trust in Him, for I know He will act.
He has plans that are exact.
He will give me an abundant life.
I do not have to worry,
or be in a hurry.
He will provide for me,
As He provides for the birds of the air.
I can depend on His care.
Therefore, I will delight myself in Him,
and trust in Him, for He does guarantee
the desires of my heart He’ll give to me.
As I trust Him and acknowledge Him,
He will direct my paths and make them straight,
And they’ll lead me right to Heaven’s gate.
My eye, nor ear, nor heart, cannot even imagine
what He has prepared for me,
Here on earth and in the Heavenly.
I have faith that He will reward me as I seek Him,
and love Him with all my heart, mind and soul.
That is my future, that is my goal.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever. (Psalm 23:6)

Happy Face Hill
Traveler’s delight to see
Nature smiling
Haiku
I actually happened to see this while
my daughter and I were driving back from the Oregon Coast!
Near Willamina, OR. I spotted what looked to be a big happy face high on the hill to my right.
“Is that a Happy Face up there on that hill?” I asked my daughter who replied “It sure looks like it!”
After stopping to take a picture she did an internet search and found an amazing story regarding the Big Smiley which you can read by clicking this link:
